Eleanor & James in Lew, Oxfordshire

Eleanor and James were married earlier this year in Lew,  a small village located about 2.5 miles southwest of Witney in the Cotwolds, close to where they both grew up. You might recognise the church as it’s the church used to film the Downton Abbey weddings. As James and Eleanor exited the church and climbed into irish governess’ cart a coach load of American tourists turned up and got very excited about seeing a real life Downton wedding : )

The reception was held in the home of Captain Charles Radclyffe’s – Lew House. He has been James’ dad’s employee since he was 16 and a good friend of the family. Captain Charles is famous for training the queen mother’s race horses from there. They had a beautiful marquee erected in the grounds and all the tables were named after there favourite pubs and there was homemade plumb gin on the tables with personalised shot glasses as favours
